doc’s 11 tips
for preserving your
vehicle’s paint
No drive through car washes; they are literally the worst thing for your car’s paint.
Never wash your car in direct sunlight.
Use only dedicated car care products, soaps and towels.
Use a three bucket wash system (soap bucket, rinse bucket, wheels bucket).
Always wash wheels first, then top to bottom as the lower panels are always dirtier.
Pre-rinse first, especially when really dirty.
Always dry immediately (microfiber towels, compressed air, blower) to avoid water spots.
Clean windows in the shade. It’s so much easier!
Use water-based tire conditioners; attracts less dirt, doesn’t sling & healthier tires.
Never let sprinkler water hit your car. NEVER!
Don’t touch your car’s paint when it’s dirty.
